The sad truth about alcoholism
The majority of alcoholics never attend an alcohol treatment center to get sober. In fact, the vast majority of alcoholics die of alcohol-related causes before they get any alcohol rehabilitation whatsoever. These sad souls die of liver failure; home and traffic accidents; stroke and heart failure; and a wealth of other painful demises. Some alcoholics realize they have a problem and seek alcohol rehabilitation in an inpatient alcohol rehab sometime in their lives, and a percentage of these people achieve recovery from alcoholism and maintain long-term sobriety.
